7 Things to Look for in a Portable Multi-Media Player by Jonathan Tiberius

7 Things to Look for in a Portable Multi-Media Player

1. It must be capable of playing various forms of media, such as audio, and video files, as well being able to use the internet. Not only should it be able to carry out these functions, but it should be able to do them effectively and to a high quality.

2. We also look for other features like the ability to change from normal screen to full screen mode, a play-list, auto replay, slow motion as well as an easy to use, comprehensive and user-friendly interface.

3. It should be stable and load quickly, without crashing or taking long periods of time to transfer files or carrying out specific functions.

4. Simply for asthetics it should appear sleek, slick and shiny. It should look the part of what it is meant to be. Ipods, the most popular portable media players are also the most advanced and 'trendy' looking.

5. One example of a device which fulfills all these functions is the Archos 604, which comes with a harddrive of up to 120gb, plays wifi, games and plays ultra high-resolution videos.

6. It can be used as a digital video recorder, record from television and other devices. Also, with a dock control, you can play back video on any television, or on the in-built screen.

7. The Archos 604 comes with a 4.3" widescreen, allowing movies to be viewed far better then when they're crunched and pixilated on a small Ipod screen.
